Custom Acrylic Maple Leaf Ornament, Truflat & Acrylic

This was a full custom ornament built around clean layering and contrast. The maple leaf is cut from Truflat, with a clear acrylic backer and a red acrylic outline to give it depth without making it busy. The name and year are integrated directly into the design, not added as an afterthought.

The skyline is laser engraved into the Truflat, letting the material do the work rather than relying on paint or heavy fills. Acrylic was used where it made sense, crisp edges, consistent colour, and a clean finish that holds up year after year.

It’s a simple piece by design, but it’s a good example of how different materials can be combined deliberately. Truflat for warmth and engraving clarity, acrylic for structure and contrast. Every line, layer, and spacing choice was made specifically for this ornament, there’s no stock template behind it.

Sometimes the best work isn’t loud. It’s just well thought out.
